The EVT Electric scooter

Mini test by Adrian Percival

During a recent bike meet I had the opportunity to ride an electric scooter, for the first time ever. OK so I only rode it for about 20mins, and it was around a car park, but I was actually impressed!

Why don't more people living in say, London, consider one of these? It absolutely idea for getting around in towns or cities, the range is sufficient to do all day without a charge, and it doesn't pollute at all.

I found the acceleration was almost as quick as a modern 50cc scoot. When you pull away it accelerates up to 30mph without any fuss or noise at all, which was strangely worrying at first!

The bike comes with two levels of power delivery, econony and power, nedless to say I had it on the power setting all the time just to see what it could do.

The EVT scooter handles well, as well as any other scooter in the std ranges. It comes with disc brakes, a good storage compartment, two different model designs, full charger equipment and I can throughly recommend it for anyone wanting a town-only based scooter for runing around on. Come on all you Pizza delivery companies, try one of these!

Specs and info

Direct Driven Hub Motor
The EVT direct driven hub motor is the first to be introduced into the market. Compared to regular electric motors, it has less transmission loss and produces higher torque at both high and low speeds.

Digital Intelligent Controller System
1. Over-heat Protection:
When the system's temperature reaches the upper limit, the system will supply only half power or shut down.

2. Over Current Protection:
When the driven current reaches the upper limit and lasts for a set time, the power will shut off.

3. Battery Energy Management:
When the battery energy approaches lower limit (about 10% left), the warning beep will sound. If you continue to drive until the lower safety limit has been reached, the warning beep will sound continuously and shut down the power.

4. Power (P)/Economic (E) Dual Driving Modes:
It is selectable by the user when driving on different road conditions.
Using power driving mode will consume more power and reduce the driving range.

5. Power Cut Off While Braking:
To prevent accelerating and braking at the same time which wastes the battery energy. If the power is cut off while braking, release the brakes and then the power supply will resume automatically in 0.5 second.

Disk Brakes on Front and Rear :
Double the braking performance, more safe when driving.

Removable Charger :
The charger can be stored outside the scooter if recharging the battery is carried out in a fixed place. This will help to reduce the weight of the scooter and prolong the charger life.

LED Display Energy Status :
It indicates the level of the battery energy and the battery malfunctions.

No Clutch Setback :
Power from the direct driven hub motor will keep scooter running smoothly.

No Mechanical Transmission Noise :
Lack of drive belt, chain or gear reduces noise while running.
